An ancient legend tells of a warrior who died and went to heaven. Before entering, he told his guide that he wanted to see hell was like. The guide showed him his way.

The warrior saw a table overflowing with wonderful food and drink. Around the table, however was a crowd of starving people. He saw that they all had to eat with utensils that were five feet long and had to be held at the ends. The people were unable to get any food into their mouths, so they were forced to sit in front of the feast without being able to satisfy their hunger. It was indeed hellish, the thought, and he readily followed the guide up to heaven.

He was surprised to see that heaven also held a table laden with wonderful food and a rule that everyone had to eat with five-foot-long utensils held at the end. But here the people were healthy and happy.

He asked the guide, “Why are these souls in heaven so happy, and those in hell so miserable, when both have the same difficulty satisfying their hunger?”

The guide smiled and said, “Because the people here in heaven have learned to feed each other”.

Many years ago, Violinist Itzhak Perlman gave a performance in New York. During the concert one of the strings on his violin suddenly broke. The crowd gasped at the sound which could be heard throughout the entire auditorium and the music abruptly came to a stop.

The crowd waited patiently for Mr. Perlman to replace the string. However, much to everyone’s surprise, Perlman didn’t rush to find a new string. he took a moment to gave himself before he motioned for the conductor to begin playing again where the orchestra had left off! For the remainder of the concert, Perlman played the music that should have been played on four string on only three.

As Itzhak finished playing, for a moment, time slowed and silence filled the air the the audience rose to its feet to offer a standing ovation for this incredible feat. Perlman smiled and humbly raised his bow. “You know”. he told them, “sometimes it is the artist’s task to find out how much music you can still make with what you have left”/

In life, when something breaks, does the loss stop us or do we continue making music with what we have ?

Gordon McKenzie, a well-known creative force at Hallmark cards, often visited schools to talk about his work. He usually opened his talks by introducing himself as an artist. Then he’d ask the students, “How many of you are artists?”

In kindergarten and first-grade classes, nearly every hand shot up. In second-grade classroom, about three-quarters of the class would typically raise their hands, but not as eagerly. Only a handful of third-grade students would put their hands up.

By the time the students reached the sixth grade, no one would identify themselves as an artists because they no longer saw themselves as creative.

We want children to hand on to their dreams, and that doesn’t always happen. If we want more creative people, we need to start with encouraging children’s creativity. regardless of career choice, if children are validated for their creations, they will continue to have new ideas.

As the kids in your life head back to school, don’t forget that it means a lot to them when you made a fuss over the works of art they bring home. After all, these kids sharing their creativity with you.

Every now and then I come across some wise thoughts that I want to share with everyone. I dont know the authors name, but I thank him or her for their wisdom and sharing it with me.

You are brave ….. when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.
You are happy ….. when you see a flower and are thankful for blessing.
You are loving ….. when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.
You are wise ….. when you know the limits of your wisdom.
You are true …. when you admit there are times you fool yourself.
You are alive ….. when tomorrow’s hope means more to you than yesterday’s mistake.
You are growing ….. when you know what you are but not what you will become.
You are free …. when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.
You are honorable ….. when you find your honor to honor others.
You are generous ….. when you can take as sweetly as you can give.
You are humble …. when you do not know how humble you are.
You are merciful …. when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.
You are beautiful ….. when you dont need a mirror to tell you.
You are rich ….. when you never need more than what you have.
You are you …. when you are at peace with who you are and are not.

Don’t compare yourself with any one in this world. If you compare, you are insulting yourself.

Don’t complain about others; change yourself if you want peace.

It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to cover the earth with carpet.

No one can go back and change a bad beginning, but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others. Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes.

If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If a problem cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

‘Changing the Face’ can change nothing. But ‘Facing the Change’ can change everything.

Be bold when you loose and be calm when you win.

No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Trust that God created solutions for all problems we meet.

Every successful person has a painful story. Every painful story has a successful ending. Accept the pain and get ready for success.

Heated gold becomes ornament.  Beaten copper becomes wires.  Depleted stone becomes statue. So the more pain you get in life you become more valuable.

Mistakes are painful when they happen. But year’s later collection of mistakes is called experience, which leads to success.

Life laughs at you when you are unhappy…
Life smiles at you when you are happy…
Life salutes you when you make others happy…

If you miss an opportunity don’t fill your eyes with tears. Tears may hide another better opportunity in front of you.

If you keep doing what you have always done, you will keep getting what you have always gotten.
For things to change, you have to change.  For things to get better, you have to get better.

Keep Smiling (^..^) always !!!

A Schoolmaster from a remote rural area was transferred to a school in Mumbai. He reported for duty two days before August 15 and, as was the practice in the school, was asked to address the assembly on the Independence Day. Here’s his dynamite speech :

Leddies and Gentulmens,

Contemporaries, Children, “This is my first maiden speech. If small small mistakes get inside my speech, I ask pardon. Stickly speaking, I wanted to joint your school more fastly, but for the following reason. Too much time lost in getting slipper reservation in three-tyre compartment. The clerk rejected to give ticket. I put complaint on station master. He said me to go to lady clerk. At first she also rejected. I then pressed her for long time and at last with great difficulty she gave a birth only to my son. Anyway I thanked the station master because he was responsible for getting birth of my son. We got independent because of great leaders like Gandhiji who get-outted all angrezi peoples from from India.

Tilak said Swaraj is our birth-rate and we shall halve it. Today we all halve our birth-rate. You children are future dynamic generators of the Nation. Look into future time only. No backside looking, or looking at your behind. Be like great like X’ raj Ranjan of Germany or Presidents like Loosebelt. You know genius, no? It is one per cent perspiration and ninety seven percent evaporation. They became great by reading great books. After we finish you here in the school, you can go to college and get B.A., M.A. and other decrease. Then you can become great liars in the supreme courts, shattered accountants, or leacherers in college. The school is like a garden. You are the seeds, school is the soil. We will bury you in this soil, pour water of knowledge on your heads and one day will become great phools. Many vacancy job come in newspapers. Only yesterday I saw in paper “Wanted for refuted engineering firm: Generators, highpower condensors” so and so forth, etc. These jobs may be teknickel, but you can rise. If you have flare in English, you can become teacher. I am now ending this fastly. My God blast you! Thank you and thank God I am finished.

Joy Hind!”

  • Where rice is Rs 40/- per kg but sim card is free,
  • Where a millionaire can buy a cricket team instead of donating the money to any charity,

Interesting results, it they are true. It makes sense, though. That’s how we are taught to respect the food we eat.

Really Quite Amazing !!

Can water be affected by our words?

Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, believes so.  And he has proof.

Dr. Emoto took water droplets, exposed them to various words, music, and environments, and froze them for three hours. He then examined the crystal formations under a dark field microscope. And he took photographs.  The results were totally mind-blowing.  Here’s a photo of ordinary water without any prayer spoken over it. The molecular structure is in disarray.

The photo below is water after the prayer was said. It’s simply breathtaking.  (I now have a great respect for praying before meals! More on this later.)

Dr. Emoto also exposed water to Heavy Metal music. Here’s how it looks like. Looks sad if you ask me.

Here’s water exposed to classical music and folk dance music. Looks much better, right?

Next, Dr. Emoto stuck a piece of paper with these words: “You make me sick. I will kill you.” Here’s how the frozen water droplets looks like under the microscope…

Below is how water looked like with the words “Love” over it. The difference is amazing.

This is Polluted water…

This is water from Lourdes , France . Utterly beautiful, right?

Wait A Minute— Aren’t You Made Up Of Water?

Yes! 72% of your body is made up of water. Imagine how your words affect your own body. When you say, “I’m a failure,” or “I’m hopeless,” or “I won’t get well,” imagine how these words weaken your health.

Make a choice to say the best words out there. Say often, “I’m wonderful,” and “I’m beautiful,”.

It’s not only water.

Dr. Emoto also experimented with cooked rice. He placed one cup of cooked rice in two airtight jars. On one jar, he wrote, “I love you,” and on the other, “You fool.” Everyday for 30 days, Dr. Emoto would say these words to each jar of rice.

After 30 days, the “I love you” rice was still white. But the “You fool” rice was so rotten, it was black. How can you explain this?

Just as a side note: When I was a child, my mother taught me to pray before meals. Now I realize it wasn’t just a nice thing to do. When I pray over my meal, I know a material transformation takes place in the molecular level of the food that I pray for. I say, “Be blessed,” to the water and food on the table—and I expect it to be blessed.

Yeah – that’s why we always wish others well on birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, festivals, examination days, etc…. BE BLESSED, everybody!!!

Amazing thought to find out a gujju

You Must Be a Gujju If…

- You have at least one relative in the stock market.

- You’re never worried about what happens if you get stranded in
Ghatkopar/Borivali/Mulund. All you’d have to do, you know, is walk across the road and
find a relative. (Still easier, just shout, “Mama! Masi! Faiba! Kaka!”
a couple of times. At least one is bound to be around.)

- You don’t worry about being stranded in New Jersey. You’ve been told
by everyone that the thing to do at such a time is to open the
telephone directory, turn to “Shah” and call any number for help.

- You measure the success of a wedding by how many people praised the
food.

- You believe Narendra Modi is the solution to everything. From your
hair to the nation’s defence.

- You understand that when someone says “Dhirajbhai no babo” or
“Maniben ni baby”, the “baba” and “baby” in question could be 40 years
old.

- You either think the garba is the coolest thing ever, or you wonder
why the whole world makes such a big deal out of it.

- No packing for any trip is complete without thepla.
- Winter = undhiyo.
- Summer = keri no ras.
- Monsoon = have su karvanoo?!

- You assume (in marital situations) that because Mara bhai na vevai
ni dikri na sasu gave a recommendation, the person in question is
virtue personified.

- You have no problems with love marriages. You just view them as a
last resort, that’s it.

- You may not donate anything to the orphanage down the road, but when
there’s a calamity in Gujarat, you send truckloads of money, food and
amenities.
- You feel a slight sense of pride in a “scemster” like Ketan Parekh,
no matter how much
you hide it.
- You think the G-U-J-J-U sequence in Kal Ho Na Ho was rather cool,
actually.

- You’re so attuned to smiling and laughing for no reason at any given
social occasions, that funerals become odd for you. (Non-Gujju
funerals, that is. At Gujju funerals, everyone has the same problem,
so they understand.)

- You know what “doodh cold drink” (pronounced doodh coal dreenk) is.

- Sunday mornings = Gathiya and jalebi. From Trupti, if you live in the
suburbs.

-You have no one in your extended family in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

-You love gorging on “snakes” like fafda even though your doctor has
strictly forbidden it.
-You went into clinical depression the day the Ambani brothers fell
apart.

-You tell your friends in college that “Hoon States maa jaoo choo”
and they think you flunked in statistics.

Jai jai garvi GUJU
